Being a manga reader first, I was initially quite skeptical as I adored the writing and art style of the manga and thought that an anime adaptation for the manga would be watered down in both art and animation with this much ambition and genre bending.
From the first episode I looked forward to the next one week after week as it doesn’t pale in comparison to the manga, sometimes even better
especially when I saw the first looks (very skeptical regarding the less details about the characters) but all those concerns soon faded when I finally heard that Science SARU was making it, not to mention their recent lineup of Scott the Pilgrim, Devilman Crybaby and Hands Off Eizouken, all of which live up to the craziness and atmosphere of DandaDana, also the studio founder Masaaki Yuasa is one of my favorite anime directors/animators of all time, having worked on shows like Ping Pong, Tatami Galaxy and Devilman again. I was mainly worried because this was the first anime I read first, but now I know that Dandadan has become not only a phenomenal manga, but also a great anime.
