WE CHANGE LIVES​

Over the years, we have successfully ran the following programs in Northwest Indiana;

​Lake CTC-: US Dept. of Education funded community technology center project that served over 500 individuals. It provided educational services to 100 high school students.

​The SES program uses technology and on-going assessment to assist low performing students in K-12 to pass the state standardized test, ISTEP+. Over 600 SES students utilized the CRWorks CTC.

Y.E.S (Youth Evolving to Self-Sufficiency) was a 2002 US department of Labor grant that provided educational and job training services to youth via partnership with Workforce Development Services, CRWorks and other community based organizations.

Brownfield Job training program - This is a partnership between CRWorks, City of Gary's Dept. of Environmental Affairs and BCA Environmental Consultants to retrain & place 75 dislocated workers in environmental jobs.

Ruby Homes is our affordable housing program funded by IHCDA to build 12 affordable single family housing units on lots that were donated by the City of Gary and Lake County commissioners. Ruby Homes have been housing families since 2008.

HPRP program is a homeless prevention program that was funded by the ARRA. CRWorks, in partnership with the City of Hammond, provided case management to over 300 individuals who had lost their jobs by assisting them to retrain, reskill and obtain sustainable employment.

HETSS: CRWorks HUD funded program that provides transitional housing, job training and life skills training to homeless families. It served over 145 homeless families since it started in 2004.

Comfort Villas is our latest affordable housing development providing energy efficient, luxurious affordable housing of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms to families who desire to be self-sufficient.

Digital Connection: Program that bridges the digital divide that exists in our community by providing access to technology tools for low income individuals. It has served over 1500 youths and individuals since 2002.

Work First: This program assist clients on Public Assistance to prepare for and obtain higher paying jobs with a goal of setting them on the path to self-sufficiency.

African Festival of the Arts: Partners with African International House to host the African Festival of the Arts in the City of Chicago annually. Also partners to run expungement clinics

Partners with community organizations in the Chicago South suburbs for food and clothing give-away.

Partners with NIDO Chicagoland to organize community awareness campaign on workforce and business development trends.
